Snake River

July 19-22, 2015

A few days after getting home from our Payson Lakes trip, we went on another camping trip to the Snake River with my family.  Jason had recently returned home from his mission to Missouri and he wanted to run a river.

Our family decided to leave Sunday night and stop at the farm for the night to help break up the drive.  The ride up there was really uncomfortable for me, since I am pregnant.  And the next morning I woke up to quite a bit of bleeding.  We were worried that I was having a miscarriage, or that something was wrong with the pregnancy, so we went to the hospital in Afton.  The ER referred us to the OB unit where a really nice doctor had me get an ultrasound and exam.  The baby looked okay and the bleeding didn't seem to be coming from anything bad.  So they told me to take it easy, not lift anything, and see if it stopped in a few days.

My family met us at the hospital, and we continued on to the campground on Palisades Reservoir.  I was able to sit around doing nothing while everyone else set up camp.  But Sophie and Aspen had lots of fun helping everyone.  They particularily liked Jamie's hammock and playing with Kevin's ultimate frisbee set.
Everyone but my mom, the girls, and me were able to run the regular Snake section a few times.  And Isaac and I were able to take the girls down the rapid-free section.  It was so much fun watching them try to paddle, spray people with the squirt guns, and look for animals.  The section was also the perfect length for little kids because they weren't too bored.

Although I wasn't able to do much on the trip, I was glad that Sophie and Aspen had fun and that my little baby was okay.
