Farm

Aug. 13-16, 2015

This summer Karla was really trying hard to find a time when all the Lloyd's could go up to the farm at the same time.  We eventually found a few days we could overlap around Jarem's birthday.  So we drove up to the farm another time for a short vacation.

The farm is too small to fit all of us now, so our family volunteered to stay outside in a tent.  I thought this would help our girls sleep better to be away from all the other kids.  And after our other camping adventures this summer, Isaac and I decided to get a new, larger tent for my birthday.  So we took our new tent out for it's maiden voyage and really liked it.

It was fun for Sophie and Aspen to go to the farm with their cousins.  I love watching them interact with each other.  We were able to do a lot of fun things.

Lacey's family and our family bought some little rafts so the kids could float the canal.  It was fun watching them paddle together and try to figure out what was going on.

We also drove to Cottonwood Lake to use the boats.  The kids all had fun paddling around.  Wade also found a rope swing that he went on.  Jarem wanted to try it too, but everyone had to hang around watching him for at least 30 mins before he got up the courage to actually swing.  Ridiculous.

Hannah and Wade also brought their projector so the kids could watch a movie against the side of the farm house.  They had to stay up way too late to start it because it wasn't dark enough, but the kids had fun.

We also set up the airplane zip-line.  All the kids loved it.  But Aspen in particular was in heaven.  She would force anyone and everyone to let her ride it.  And she would throw a fit if she had to give another kid a turn.  We frequently had to make the cousins let her ride with them because she wouldn't give it up any other way.

I was glad we came up with a few new and unique things to do at the farm because I get bored walking through the trees and to the swings every time (which we still did).  So hopefully every time we go there we can try out a few new activities or places to visit.
