Camping at Payson Lakes

July 16-18, 2015

This summer we went camping for a few days with our friends the Fishers.  They have two little boys about our kids ages.  We decided to go to Payson Lakes because it was only an hour or so away.

The campground was perfect for little kids.  Sophie and Austin were able to ride their bikes around the loop and get lots of practice.  There was a short, but steep, walk down to one of the main lakes.  We hiked down there many times so the kids could play in the water and go for bike rides.

We also drove to another waterfall for a short hike we found on one of the "best hikes for kids" websites.

The worst part of the trip was nap time.  The tents were too hot to sleep in during the day.  So I made my girls sleep in two camping chairs put together.  It took a lot of work to get them to sleep, but eventually it worked.  And while they were napping Isaac was able to go for a real bike ride.

Although it was a short trip, we had lots of fun.  It was great to go camping with another family with kids.  We definitely want to do this every summer.
