This year we had a fun Memorial Day weekend. Because Isaac is a resident at the University of Utah and works closely with ARUP, we were able to get tickets to their company Lagoon day. Isaac isn't a big amusement park guy. He doesn't really like roller coasters and rides, and he doesn't like crowds. But I was excited about taking the girls and he was willing to oblige.
So we planned to spend half a day at Lagoon before driving up to the Lloyd farm in Star Valley, Wyoming. Sophie was so excited to go on the roller coasters. I hadn't been to Lagoon for many years, but definitely didn't know how the kiddie section was going to be. But when we got there I was pleasantly surprised. They had a lot more kid rides than I remembered, and the best part was that Aspen was able to go on most of them. We were worried that she was going to be too short to ride many of the rides.

Sophie absolutely loved the rides. She had a smile plastered on her face the entire time and was running from ride to ride. Aspen, on the other hand, was completely dead-pan. She showed absolutely no emotion on the ride--she wasn't scared or crying, but she wasn't smiling or laughing either. Isaac and I honestly couldn't tell if she was having fun or not. But then when the ride was over she would run to the next one and impatiently wait in line. So we decided that meant she like it. After about the 6th ride, she finally started smiling and acting like she was enjoying herself.
We ate lunch at the ARUP picnic, did a few more rides, and then drove to the farm while the girls took a nap. They were asleep in their carseats before we were even out of the parking lot.
Then we went to the farm for a few days so Isaac could finish up his upgrade from the year before. Isaac was able to remove all the carpet, de-clutter, and paint the whole main level the year before, but he didn't get the upstairs done. So this trip we went up to finish the upstairs. He was able to paint, remove carpet, re-carpet the stairs, and build a bunkbed. It looked so much better.
Lacey and her kids and my parents also came up to help. It was good for Sophie and Aspen to have their cousins to play with. And my parents were a ton of help with the girls so I could help Isaac. My dad also did lots of odd jobs around the place, like hanging the tv antenna.
