While we were there, Isaac and Lacey decided to whittle golf clubs and make a mini golf course. They spent far too long doing this. But the kids had fun playing with them when they finished.
We also went for some usual hikes and bike rides to the pool.
The most fun part of the trip was when we went to Palisades Reservoir and played in the water and rowed around. Luke loved standing on the edge of the water and throwing rocks in. The bigger kids had a ton of fun with the squirt guns and dip sticks. In all the years the Lloyd's have been going to the farm they have never been to Palisades before. There are lots of things to do around that area, but so many of them haven't been explored yet. But I'm glad that lately we have been branching out and doing more interesting things while we are up there.
Also Uncle Layne fixed the tractor (who knows why) when he went to the farm recently. So we decided to take the kids for a hay ride to the canal and float down. It was a slow, bumpy ride, but much better than trying to haul all the kids and gear all the way to the canal.
The kids love floating down the canal. But they are crazy because that water is soooooo cold. I honestly have no idea how they can even stay in it the way they do, but they have fun.
Isaac and I had another dutch oven meal for dinner. And we were supposed to go to a Demolition Derby one night, but Karla "wasn't feeling well", so we didn't make it. Justin and I were super bummed about that because it sounded like fun. Hopefully we can go another year.
And this post is shorter than normal because it's been so long I don't remember very much specific stuff that happened. Ha ha.
