We first met at the Heber Dairy Keen for dinner. The kids had fun watching the trains drive around the ceiling. Then we went to the ice castles. I had seen pictures before, but they were even better in person.
The castles were a lot bigger than I expected. But they were also kind-of stressful. There were all these tunnels that went through the walls and the kids would rush off into them, but the parents didn't know where they popped out. And those kids are sooooo fast they would just vanish. We had to keep reminding them to stick together, but they were so excited it was hard.
One time Isaac forced me to go through a tunnel while he was supposed to watch the kids. But by the time I got out he had lost Luke. It was a scary few minutes, but we found him. It was also tricky to keep track of the kids because everyone looks the same bundled up in bulky snowsuits in the dark.
The ice castles had a few cool ice slides that we went down. And every 30 mins or so they would have fire dancers perform. They were basically men with flaming batons, but they did crazy things. So that was really cool to see.
Fortunately we went when we did because the following week they closed the castles because it was so warm and the ice was melting. It was a lot of fun and the kids had fun playing with their cousins.
