One Year Down!

Last Friday Isaac completed his first year of medical school. I am so proud of him for doing so well. Isaac worked so hard throughout the year with school, working in a lab, and spending time with me. I really admire his hard work and dedication in everything he does.

Before we started medical school I heard all the horror stories about how "You'll never see your husband", "He will be studying in the library every night until after midnight", etc. about how terrible life as a medical student's wife would be. Well, I just want to say that it was all a lie. Medical school has been no different than undergrad for Isaac and I. I still spent every evening and most of the weekend with my husband. We had a great time together going on dates, working around the house and yard, and getting to know some of the other students. If anyone out there is wondering whether they should attend medical school, just know that there are some people out there (us) who would recommend it because most people like to make it sound harder than it actually is. I have found that life is what we make it. If you want medical school to be trying and hard, it will be. I'm not saying Isaac didn't have to work hard, he did, but he had his priorities set in advance so he was able to meet all his goals. We just need to keep the things that matter most in life in the proper order, and everything else will work out.

Isaac is excited to only have one more year of classes. Hopefully we can have just as great of an experience during second year that we have had this year.
