We first went on a hike to Buffalo Point, which is only about 0.5 miles one way. Once we reached the top it was incredibly windy. It felt like you could lean into the wind and you wouldn't fall. Isaac asked Aspen to stand still so he could take her picture, but the wind kept blowing her so hard she couldn't just stand.
Then we drove to the other side of the island and went for another hike. This one was longer, but the kids did great. Sophie was an awesome hiker and did the whole thing by herself. Aspen had to be carried some of the time, but she still did great. They hike so much better when they are with their cousins. Luke fell asleep in my arms on the hike down and took a nap in the car while the rest of us ate lunch.
After our picnic lunch we flew kites in the parking lot. We have one kite that is really easy for kids to fly. But our 2 trick kites require a lot more skill. It's fun for the adults to try them, but the kids can't do it. We had a really fun day.
