Sophie is 9 1/2

 At the end of January, Sophie had her half birthday.  She is 9 1/2 years old.  Here are some things about Sophie:

• Sophie is super smart and loves to read and write.  She has started writing her own book about a horse called "Jupiter".  She loves school (although she doesn't admit it) and is in Mrs. Powell's 4th grade class.
• 
• Sophie is really good at drawing.  Lately the kids have been watching YouTube videos about how to draw different things and they always looks so good.
• 
• She is a good big sister and is really patient with Hazel.  Since covid I have had to leave the kids home by themselves every once in a while.  I usually take Hazel with me, but if she is sleeping I let Sophie be in charge.
• Sophie does not like to do her hair.  I try to get her to do something every morning and she always wants "straight hair".  The only thing she will ever let me do is a ponytail on the rare occasion that she needs it out of her face.
• 
• Sophie loves horses and is always asking if she can have a horse.

Sophie is such a smart, sweet girl.  She is such a peacemaker and doesn't like when there are conflicts between all the little girls that live in the neighborhood.  She is always watching out for the people who are left out or excluded.  And she does such a good job of trying to write in her journal and read her scriptures every night.  She is definitely growing up and isn't a little kid anymore.  I love Sophie so much.
