In February, Hazel turned 18 months old. I am really late getting to this post, so I'll try to remember. Here are some things about Hazel:
- Hazel isn't talking much. By this age Sophie could tell you all the letters of the alphabet (but she really isn't a fair comparison). So at her 18 month well check I talked to the pediatrician and we decided to start her in speech therapy. We ended up going through the Jordan School District. I took her in to be evaluated and she passed all the puzzles and games with really good marks. She could figure everything out really well. She definitely understands everything, she just doesn't make many sounds.

- Her speech therapist comes to our house twice a month for 45 minutes and we basically just play with her. I thought it would involve more practicing sounds or mouth shape or something, but we just play.

- Hazel is a definite mama's girl. She gets really clingy every time someone she doesn't know is around. And because of covid, she doesn't see many people or leave the house very often. And she loves to grab me around the legs and stick her head in my butt. It's really annoying.

- She still loves to suck her 2 fingers and cuddle her blankey.

- She loves to climb and is becoming really independent. If I tell her "no" about something like having candy, she will push the stools across the kitchen and try to climb up and get it herself.

- Hazel is such a bald-y compared with my other kids. It's really weird.

- Hazel LOVES puppies and dogs. She isn't at all afraid of them. She is always trying to find Harlow and Boston (the neighbor's dogs).

- She loves being outside and going for walks. But she doesn't love sitting in the stroller.
- She started doing this funny thing where she glares at you and if you glare back she will crack the biggest smile.

- Hazel loves to read. Sometimes she sits in the beanbag and flips through books by herself. But she frequently brings you a book and climbs in your lap and demands to be read to.

- She has such a cute smile that crinkles her nose.

- Luke and Hazel play together a lot. Even though Luke is usually mean to Hazel, she still loves him so much and is always checking to see where he is.

Hazel is such a little sweetie. She definitely keeps us on our toes and loves to get into things she shouldn't. She is always in the toothbrush drawer and trying to smear chapstick on everything. She is also my first kid that has stuck toys in the toilet. I try to shut all the doors, but I can't keep track of when the older kids open things up and let her into things she shouldn't be in. But we love baby Hazel so much.
