Hazel is 5 months old

As I'm writing this, Hazel is really 9 months old, so I'm going to try to remember what she was doing at 5 months.

  • Hazel is my first baby who puts herself to sleep.  If she's tired, she will lay down and go to sleep.  All my other babies had to be nursed or rocked to sleep.  One day as Isaac and I were putting the older kids to bed we came downstairs to find her like this.
  • She is also my only baby who falls asleep in her bouncer regularly.
  • Hazel is a mama's girl and loves to be held.  But she never snuggles on your shoulder for more than 2 seconds.
  • Hazel is getting really good at rolling and sitting in the bumbo.
  • Hazel had her bottom 2 teeth pop through.  I noticed them bulging one day and the very next day both teeth were out.  She didn't seem fussy or in pain at all.  Easiest teething yet.
  • Hazel still sleeps great at night.  I am so grateful that I don't have to get up and nurse her in the night.
  • She has the most beautiful smile and her eyes light up every time she smiles.  She is super easy to get to smile and is such a happy baby.  But she also seems to have a serious personality and just watches what is going on so intently.
We all love Hazel so much.  The older kids are constantly mauling her with their love and the most common thing I say all day is  "Leave Her Alone!", but they mean well.
