The "Get Out Pass" also gave us a free time night skiing at Brighton. So we went up there one evening to ski. We stayed at my cabin so we had a place to go back to for dinner and when the kids got tired. Luke and Aspen tried skiing this time. But they got worn out easily and ended up staying at the cabin with me most of the time. But Sophie is getting pretty good at skiing and went out with Isaac on some of the bigger hills.
The next day Isaac and the kids made a cool snow cave. We had fun being at the cabin. Recently my dad, Don, and Rick's kids decided to sell the cabin. Things were becoming complicated with so many owners and lots of things were needing expensive repairs. So this was the last time we were able to go up there before it was sold.
And we took them out tubing a few times. We went to "the Luge" up Immigration Canyon. There was a lot of walking involved and would be better when the kids are a little older. But Isaac was good at pulling the kids up the mountain. With being pregnant, I wasn't feeling great and didn't have a ton of energy a lot of the time.
And one time Isaac went skiing at Snow Basin with Hannah and his dad. He really liked that resort.
Girl's Nights:
A few times I went on girl's nights with the ladies on our cul de sac. We went to dinner and a movie once, a chocolate making class, and one neighbor taught us how to decorate cakes once. It's been a lot of fun getting to know these ladies.
Tumbling:
Sophie and Aspen have still been taking tumbling at Tumble Tek. They are getting pretty good. I don't know much about tumbling, like the difference between a "back walk-over" and a "bridge kick-over", but they can bend it all sorts of shapes and do crazy stuff.
Soccer:
This spring all the kids played soccer. It was Luke's first time, so we made a team with 5 of the little boys on our street and Isaac was the coach. It was hilarious to watch them play. For a while Isaac was frustrated with coaching because the kids would get distracted and run away. But as the season went on he relaxed and let them just have fun. Towards the end of the season things finally "clicked" for Luke and he got 2 goals.
Aspen played on a team with 2 other girls on our street. She got really into defense this season and was really good at defending the goal (they don't have goalies yet). She stopped tons of goals and seemed to have a lot of fun.
Sophie played on a team where she didn't know anyone, and there was only 1 other girl on her team. So that was a little hard for her. But she is getting pretty good. She isn't super competitive, but she has a good ability to read the field and know where the ball is going to pop out. She scored a few goals as well and played really well.
Baby Animal Days:
This spring we took the kids to Baby Animal Days at the Cross E Ranch. Isaac didn't come with us last year when we went here. And he had a lot of fun. It gets pricey to do all the activities, but the kids had a blast. They were able to see baby pigs, cows, goats, bunnies, and chicks. We also got to go for a wagon ride. And they have some fun slides, bouncing areas, and corn pits. It was a lot of fun.
