- Luke can whine. It drives me nuts on a daily basis. If there were competitions for a whiny child, I'm sure he'd be very competitive. But the weird (annoying) thing is that he really only whines for me. Grandma Sugar was babysitting Luke and Aspen one day and he was totally fine for her. But as soon as I walked in the door, he started whining. My mom noticed and thought it was really weird that a switch is flipped and his whining starts. But we are working on it.
- Lately every night after dinner the kids on our street all go outside and ride bikes around the cul-de-sac. There are 3 (out of 5) houses that have 2 year old little boys. So those boys get together and ride their scooters or strider bikes together. They are so funny together. And their conversations are hilarious because they can all barely talk. But I can just imagine the fun and chaos that little posse will cause as they get older.
- Luke wakes up every morning and yells, "Mommy, I awake". It's pretty much the cutest thing ever (as along as it's not before 6am, and gets cuter the later he sleeps in). Luke is great at going to bed at night, but naps are really challenging. He gets stubborn and refuses to sleep once or twice a week. The other days I still have to rock him and force him to nap or else he will just play in his room the whole time. I don't know how we are ever going to let him sleep in a big boy bed.
- We have been trying to potty train Luke a little bit recently. He shows absolutely no interest whatsoever. So we keep waiting a little while and trying again. He finally peed on the toilet for the first time a few days ago, so I was hoping he'd be really excited to do it again--but no. At this rate he might be in diapers forever.
- Luke is all boy. Every once in a while he is overcome with a wild and crazy destructive urge. His face changes and he makes this puffy lipped snarl (I wish I had a picture or video of it). Then he attacks and turns into a rabid animal. It's hilarous, but you also need to watch out because he wants to wrestle and it gets violent and he bites and goes crazy.
- Luke is such a good helper out in the yard. While we were putting in the yard, he would be out there for hours following Isaac around helping him. He would get out the same gardening tools and actually be very useful. He was much better about yard work than the girls. He would be outside all day if he could.
- He has the cutest smile. But when you try and take a picture he says "cheese" and makes a smile that looks like "I'm going to eat you". It cracks me up. But he will only hold his "smile" for a nanosecond, so you better snap that photo fast.
Luke is such a funny and adorable little boy (when he's not whining). He really is spoiled as the baby and is used to constant attention. He definitely demands that attention from everyone. But he's so stinking adorable that he gets away with anything. He's definitely not a baby anymore and has been talking more and more lately. Just last night on the drive home from Ogden, he told us a 10 minutes story about 2 puppies that live in his closet. It was hilarious and he had Aspen dying of laughter. We love our crazy, wild, little boy
