Aspen is 2 Months Old

Aspen turned two months old a week and a half ago.  She is growing up so fast and getting noticeable bigger.  Here are some facts about Aspen:

  • Aspen loves to be held.  She screams and cries when I leave her in the bouncer for a while--which means I rarely get to eat a meal in peace and quiet.
  • Aspen likes to be held while napping.  I held Sophie while she napped, but that's a lot easier to do with only one kid.  Aspen's favorite spot is being held upright on my left shoulder.
  • Aspen is still really sleepy, but she loves movement to fall asleep.  She always needs to be bounced and bounced and bounced.  She will cry in the car every time we hit a stoplight, but will calm down as soon as the car starts moving again.
  • She usually goes to bed between 8-9pm and sleeps until 2-3am for her first feed.  She then wakes up between 5-6am and is hard to get to go back to sleep.  She still grunts a lot in her sleep if she isn't comfortable or is starting to wake up.
  •  Aspen loves attention and will give big smiles and "talk" if you are interested in her.
I feel really bad for Aspen because she doesn't get as much attention as Sophie did as a baby--as a result of being a second child.  The poor girl has to cry more often because I can't get to her when I am in the middle of doing things for Sophie.  I think I have a lot of mom-guilt because Aspen seems to be more neglected.  I know she isn't really neglected, but I wish I could give her 100% of my attention all the time the way Sophie had it.  I wish she could nap in peace and quiet without her sister waking her up constantly.  But I am so glad to have this little girl part of our family.  She often seems fussy (especially according to Isaac), but for the most part is a little sweetie.  She just likes to be loved, and it's nice to know she likes her mama and is needed.
