She is such a happy little girl too. Hazel hardly ever cries. She fusses a little at times, but usually is super content. She is such a good and sweet little baby.
Hazel started sucking her right thumb at about 3 months. She sucked it really consistently for a few weeks, but about a week ago she switched and now sucks her two fingers on her left hand. Isaac is proud about that because apparently those are the same fingers he used to suck. But she is my first baby who I haven't used a binkie with, and it's wonderful. She self-soothes way better than any of my other kids did. I think her finger sucking is a huge part of why she sleeps through the night. She is also starting to out-grow being rocked to sleep. She sometimes just wants to be set on the floor and she will fall alseep on her own.
Hazel is not cuddly. It's a little sad. But now when I hold her up on my shoulder she will never relax and cuddle. She is too interested in everything going on around her that she holds her head up and looks around.
Sophie, Aspen, and Luke still lover her so much. I constantly have to tell them to leave her alone. I'm mostly worried about them getting her sick during this time of year. It seems like at least one of us is sick these days. But fortunately Hazel has been fine so far.
Hazel smiles all the time. She has "twinkle eyes" when she smiles. It is the sweetest thing ever to see how much she loves me whenever I look at her. She has recently started laughing a lot more too. And that is so contagious, all the other kids start laughing at whatever she thinks is funny.
I feel a lot of guilt about Hazel living in such chaos with 3 rowdy, older siblings. It seems like someone is constantly waking her up the second she falls asleep. And I have to wake her up frequently to throw her in her car seat to go drop off/pick up someone. I wish she could have a more quite and relaxed babyhood, but she seems to be doing well regardless.
I love my baby Hazel so much. She is the perfect little girl and is exactly what I needed.
