Hazel is 3 Months Old

Hazel is seriously the best baby ever.  A few days before she turned 3 months old she started sleeping through the night.  I thought it was going to be a one time thing, but she's probably slept through the night the last 12 out of 14 nights!  (It freaks me out though and I get up a few times each night to make sure she's still breathing.)  My other kids never slept through the night until I weened them at 1 year.

Serious and confused face

Hazel is such a happy girl.  She smiles any time you look at her.  Her smile is so big that she often has to turn her head.  And she has such beautiful eyes.  They twinkle when she smiles.

Hazel has started sucking her thumb.  I haven't ever tried a binkie with her because as a newborn she showed signs of self-soothing that my other babies never did.  Plus she doesn't cry very often, so I don't need to plug her up.  So she's my first baby that has fallen asleep on her own if she's tired.  She falls asleep in her bouncer occasionally.  And sometimes she likes to lay on the floor and not be held, and she will fall asleep on her own.

Hazel is not a cuddly baby.  She has become interested in the world and will never lay her head on my shoulder anymore.  It's sad because I love snuggling like that.  But every time I hold her up like that, she just looks around at everything.

And Hazel has almost completely stopped spitting up!  Hooray!  She eats really well and can keep it down.  I think her sphincters are better developed (the doctor said she would eventually grow out of it) and that I have learned how to avoid things that trigger her to spit up.

Sometimes Hazel will be asleep, but her eyes are still open a crack and I will smile at her and she smiles back in her sleep.  It's so sweet to see how happy she is to see me all the time.  And she loves when she gets undivided attention and we "talk" to each other.  I will coo at her and she will coo back.  She's such an angel.
