But on Friday morning (remember that I flew out late Thursday afternoon) around 9 am Isaac called me and said that Luke was already driving him crazy and he didn't know if he could handle it. I told him it had only been 3 waking hours and to suck it up. :)
Apparently the drive to the farm wasn't very fun without me. The girls are fine because they can just watch a movie. But Luke constantly demands books, toys, drinks, snacks, etc.
All the kids probably ate their weight in raspberries.
Then they went swimming at the Star Valley pool and Isaac wasn't paying attention to Aspen while he was helping Luke. And Aspen got in the water too deep and the lifeguard had to jump in and save her. So I don't have much confidence in Isaac keeping the kids alive without me.
I think the kids all floated the canal. But I can't remember anything specific about that beside Jarem's kids all lost their sandals.
Later they went to the county fair in Afton. Isaac said it was a lot of fun. The kids had fun seeing the animals and going on rides. There was a fun-house type ride that the kids enjoyed. Apparently Jarem lost his wallet.
They went out to dinner at Burger King. The kids all told me that "daddy let me have my own fries" because I'm cheap and always make them share. He also bought them each an ice-cream cone as big as their heads.
And at the fair they all went to the rodeo. The kids had fun at that, and Luke talked about rodeos the rest of the summer. And he keeps saying "I want to ride a cow, not a horse".
Later on Barry and Karla came to the farm. They brought Lacey's kids with them because Lacey just had a baby. They all went up to the flat water section of the Snake River and floated a little section. Apparently James was bouncing on the raft tube and accidentally fell in. The kids have been mimicking him all summer. They thought it was hilarious.
So overall I think they had fun, but I think Isaac missed me and may have learned to have a little more appreciation for the things I do.
