Then at breakfast he turned our orange juice green. No one saw him, but he's sure sneaky. Then smarty pants Sophie was thinking about all the things the leprechaun turns green and realized they are all liquids (even the pancakes are liquid before we cook them). But she had to run off to school before she could do much else.
While Sophie was at kindergarten, Aspen, Luke and I went to the store and bought some gold coins (with chocolate inside). Sophie had been planning her leprechaun trap for quite some time and was thrilled to see the gold to use as bait. She kept setting up her trap and leaving glasses of water all over the house for the leprechaun to dye green. But that sneaky little leprechaun kept dying all the water and stealing the gold, but Sophie never caught it.
Then we made and delivered green sugar cookies to our friends in the neighborhood. And we came home to make pancakes for dinner. Sophie and Aspen were starring at the bowl the whole time, but somehow as Sophie was stirring the pancakes they still turned green. That is one sneaky little leprechaun. The girls (especially Sophie) had fun all day trying to catch that little guy. Maybe they'll have better luck next year.
