Sophie's Nightmares

People always ask how Aspen is sleeping through the night, and I reply "my two year old doesn't sleep through the night yet, so I don't expect the baby to either".  Sophie wakes up between one and eight times a night with nightmares.  Some times she screams, other times she quietly cries or whimpers.  But Isaac and I usually have to get up a couple times each night to calm her down.  Some times Sophie tells us what her dreams are about and they are hilarious.  Here are a few of the ones she has shared with us:
  • "Doug (her stuffed horse) ate a frog."
  • "There's a mouse on the window."
  • "Crocodiles are eating my tummy."
  • "Wolves are eating me."  (Lots of her dreams involve getting eaten by various animals.)
  • "There are trolls outside in the snow."
  • "Somebody poured water on my head."
  • "I didn't share Doug with Lucy."
