Aspen is 7 Months Old

Aspen turned 7 months old in February.  Here are some interesting things about our baby girl:
  • Aspen is almost crawling.  She has been sitting for a while and has begun lunging for toys.  She keeps one leg straight and locked at all times to use as a pivot to help her get back to sitting position.  I call it her "peg leg".  If she happens to fall over, Aspen can now get herself back to sitting position.
  • Aspen is still really inconsistent at night.  Some nights she will only feed once, but then the next night she will get up to eat three times.  It's killing me.  She will not be rocked to sleep.  Nursing is the only thing that can get her back to sleep.  But she sure is adorable when she is sleeping
  • Aspen thinks she is a baby dinosaur.  She loves to growl with a really deep voice.  It's really weird and funny.  It is also really infectious because anyone who hears her roars back in the same deep way.
  • Aspen loves playing with her sister, but I think she is a bully.  She already wants whatever Sophie is playing with.  She tries so hard to get to Sophie to steal her toys.  She can be completely surrounded by her own toys, but she just wants what Sophie has.  I am worried that they will start fighting all the time as soon as Aspen is mobile.
  • Aspen is still incredibly fussy.  She cries all the time.  She always wants to be held or touching me, but never cuddles.  She never lets me get anything done.  She cries when I get Sophie breakfast and lunch.  She hates when I make dinner.  I don't know what to do with this girl.  It's sort-of sweet that she wants me so much, but she starts crying whenever she sees me because she wants me to hold her.  Argh.
Even though Aspen can be quite a handful at times, we love her so much.  When she does cuddle for two seconds, we soak it up.  She has such kissable cheeks and I spend plenty of time each day smooching on her. ;)
