Sophie is 6 Months Old!

Today is Sophie's Half Birthday! I can't believe my baby is already 6 months old. She is such a sweet, adorable, and funny baby. Sophie has her 6 month doctor's appointment next week where I will find out her statistics, but will have to post those later. Here are some of Sophie's new talents:
  • Sophie is really good at playing with toys now. Isaac says that he thinks she has very good fine motor skills for her age. She has an amazing ability to find the tag on all her toys and suck on it. She will pick up a toy and rotate it until she finds the tag. I have no idea why she likes that, but it makes her happy.
  • Sophie is still amazing at bouncing herself in the bouncer. It is almost a reflex now when we put her in it and will start bouncing automatically.

  • Sophie has been eating rice cereal for an entire month. She usually only eats it once a day and only has 1-2 tablespoons. She had green beans for the first time last Sunday. She really seemed to like them mixed with the cereal, but didn't think they were so great on their own. She is a pretty good eater, but doesn't really open her mouth for the spoon. She gets so distracted by everything else going on that I just have to wedge the spoon between her lips and she will eat it. (But she is the same with breastfeeding. She only "sleep feeds". If she is awake she will be too distracted, so I have to wait until she is asleep or ready to sleep before feeding her. Then she eats great.)
  • Sophie has a wonderful sense of humor. She laughs at the strangest things. She likes being dangled upside-down. She likes being squirted in the tummy with her bath toys. She laughs at things that I think she would hate, but has a great personality.
  • She makes the funniest faces these days. Here is one of my new favorites.
  • Sophie has her first tooth. It isn't all the way out, but I felt it for the first time this morning. And fortunately she hasn't even been fussy with it "coming in".
  • Sophie loves to talk. She is a very noisy baby. She babbles and squawks all the time. If she is being ignored she will get louder and louder until we pay her some attention.
  • She is a very wiggly baby. My parents say she is their "blurry grandchild" because she wiggles so much the webcam can't focus on her.
  • Sophie can sit up on her own. She still topples over sometimes, but can sit up for long periods all by herself.
I love my big girl so much. She makes me happy every single day and I enjoy spending all my time with her. She is the most beautiful baby ever.

I can't believe how big she is getting. I love that little laugh she has and how she bounces her self. Boston has a blanket that he has to hav when he sleeps and he has to find the tag on it. We miss you guys!
