Rodeo

I love rodeos. While Isaac was on his mission, I became friends with a guy who lived in a small Utah town. I went up to visit him one summer and he took me to a rodeo. I had been to a rodeo before, but it wasn't until this guy explained the rules to me that I really started to appreciate what those crazy cowboys were doing.

When Isaac and I were on our honeymoon, near Jackson Hole, he took me to a rodeo. We have made it a tradition to go to a rodeo around our anniversary/the 4th of July ever since. This year we didn't know if we could keep our tradition because we didn't know if Wisconsin had rodeos. But after much searching, Isaac found one rodeo about 2 hours outside Milwaukee.

After our BBQ, we drove to Manawa for the rodeo. The rodeo was about the same size as the Oakley rodeo. It was excellent. Before the rodeo started, the female riders performed a really cool flag-formation routine. It was incredible. It was the longest one I have ever seen and lasted about 10-15 minutes. The whole rodeo was a lot of fun. The broncos and bulls bucked hard, and were really fun to watch. The half time show had a stunt guy who rode on the back of two horses standing up. He weaved in and out of flaming torches, switched from front to back, and jumped the horses through a flaming hoop. It was really incredible to watch. All in all, we had a great time.

After the rodeo Isaac said, "I'm afraid I'm a hick because I really enjoy rodeos. I would much rather go to a rodeo than do all that boring city stuff". Well, I guess it is good that Isaac and I are together, because I would go to a rodeo over a museum or concert any day.
