Isaac's Cold, Hard Heart

The other day as I was watering the lawn, I sprayed the water Isaac noticed an animal run for cover. At first we thought the animal was a rat. But upon closer look, we discovered that it was a baby bunny. It was sooooo small and cute. The bunny was probably only 3-4 inches long with ears the size of dimes (see the picture below).

I asked Isaac if I could catch it and keep it for my own. He said, "NO". I asked if his conscience would let the poor little creature starve to death, and he didn't seem to care. So I told him he had a cold, hard heart. (He told me I had a cold heart for wanting to take the poor baby from it's mother, but I thought that was an unfair argument.) I named the little guy "Isaac" in memory of the bird "Kevin" (for those of you who know what I am talking about :)).

A few days later when we looked outside we saw that there were now 5 bunnies. We found their little hole in the neighbor's yard. I named them Isaac, Harry-Barry, Jamie, Hannah, and Jare. Because Isaac wouldn't let me keep the bunnies, I went over and petted them (although they didn't like that much because they are wild bunnies).

Now I check on them every time I leave the house. It is fun trying to locate them because they are so camouflage. But they are really cute.

(Note: On Saturday Isaac built a fence around our garden to keep the bunnies out because they keep eating our spinach, beans, and peas. So now we can better appreciate the bunnies for their cuteness without cursing them for eating our plants.)
