Skiing:
Isaac has taken the kids skiing a few times this winter/spring. They went at Cokeville a time or two, once at Cherry Peak, once at Brighton, and once night skiing at Brighton. I mostly stayed home watching Hazel, so I might be missing some.
The kids are all getting really good at skiing. Sophie is getting really good and can go on quite a few of the bigger lifts. But she is usually stuck with daddy and the little kids. She is fairly cautious, but has good skill and turns.
Aspen had a rough start, but picked it up quickly. She doesn't seem to have a ton of fun, but doesn't complain much unless she is cold. She has speed and is a little reckless.
Luke basically couldn't ski at all by himself the first time, and is now getting really good. I don't think Isaac has taught him how to turn, and I think he crashes a lot, but he seems to have a lot of fun.
St. Patrick's Day:
My kids love St. Patrick's Day. They call it Leprechaun Day. We always eat pancakes and orange juice either for breakfast or dinner. And somehow those sneaky little leprechauns always manage to dye it green. The kids always have a ton of fun making leprechaun traps.
This year I had the kids invite over some of their friends and we made little St. Patrick's Day gnomes. It turned out to be a lot more work than I was expecting. I thought it would be fun to make them for other holidays, but we haven't gotten around to it yet.
Antelope Island:
After the world was shut down for COVID-19, we went to Antelope Island to go hiking one weekend. It was crazy crowded. Everyone is looking for places to go to get out, and Antelope Island was a major destination. We had a fun time hiking.
Mice:
Ever since Sophie's bird feeder science experiment, we have had extra bird seed in the shop. Well, some mice discovered it and decided that the shop would be a nice place to live. When we discovered the mice, it was a mess. They knocked bird seed everywhere, and there was mouse pee and poop all over. Isaac built a trap with some scrap wood and a 5 gallon bucket. He caught quite a few mice. Sophie didn't want us to kill the mice, so Isaac and the kids walked them out into the woods and let them go. But cleaning up the mice mess was a pain. Isaac did most of it himself, and he wasn't thrilled. But he did a great job.
Easter:
This year Easter was fairly normal. The kids woke up to an Easter Egg hunt and got their baskets. They each got a new outfit, but since church has been cancelled they haven't even had a chance to wear them yet.
Karla and Barry came down to our house for a few minutes to visit, but wouldn't come inside. And they didn't even see my parents.
Hazel has become so wiggly that is hard to get a picture of her that doesn't come out blurry.
