First we went to the Jordan River temple open house so all the kids could go inside. It was crowded and we had a hard time finding the Brinkerhoff's. Going to an open house is anti-climatic as a adult who has been through the temple many times. But I think the kids liked it.
Then we went up to the Zermatt in Midway. It was a cute European-type hotel. We got a suite room so the girls could all sleep together, so the adults could catch up after they were asleep. We went swimming in a cool pool that was indoor with a little river to go through the wall to the outdoor pool. (It was still early in the year and chilly, so we did a lot of sitting in the hot tub.) We actually ran into Howard and Lisa Sorenson in the hot tub and talked with them for quite a while.
There was also a carousal that the kids rode a million times. The poor worker had to stand there while our kids rode it over and over again.
Then we went out to dinner and the kids watched a movie. After they went to bed we played games and watched an adult movie.
In the morning we stopped by the European bakery to try a few pastries. They were delicious. Then we went home.
It was a short trip, but reminded us that you don't have to travel far to have a fun time. The Midway/Heber area is beautiful and there's lots to do around there that we haven't seen yet. It was also great to see the Brinkerhoff's. Our kids play so well together and it's fun watching the girls run around together (poor Luke).
