A while ago Jamie went on a date with a guy that owns a ranch near the Salt Lake airport (crazy!). Each spring he has a baby animal days festival. So we went with Jamie and my parents to check it out.
We went to a baby animal days thing in Kaysville a few years ago that wasn't very good. But this one was cool. The kids were able to ride a little train. We went for a hayride through the fields to see the baby calves. And played in the bean pits. We also tried some yummy caramel apples.
There were tons of baby animals to play with and hold. The baby goats were really cute. My mom liked the baby pigs, so we kept joking we were going to get her one. She didn't think that was very funny.
I think they do a fall festival later in the year that we will have to check out.
Tumbling
The girls really loved tumbling. I was amazed how quickly they picked things up, and how flexible they are. Sophie definitely thought about things more and focused on doing exactly what the teachers told her. Aspen was more fearless and tried things more quickly. But they both loved going. Unfortunately the main teacher stopped coming and some teenage girls took over the class, so we didn't like it as much and stopped going. But now we need to find a new place to have them go.
Puppy Barn
At school, Sophie started a "puppy club" that she and her friends played almost every day at recess. Sophie kept coming home and asking if we could get a puppy. After telling her "NO!" a million times we decided to take her to the "Puppy Barn". It's a place where you can hold and play with puppies for free.
The girls had a lot of fun looking at and petting all the cute puppies. They kept asking if we could keep one, and we said "No, but maybe we should get grandma a puppy". Ha ha. She didn't think that was funny either. But I really think she could like sitting around with a little lap puppy to keep her company.
Aquarium
We go an aquarium pass again this year and have gone many times. I love that we live so close to the aquarium now. It's a perfect place to go when we are bored or too hot in the summer. The play place is the best. And they've been getting lots of new animals, so there's even more to see now.
Funny Pictures
Here are some of the funny pictures we took at home and while waiting at tumbling.
Lagoon
This summer we went to Lagoon for a day. The kids had a ton of fun there. Sophie was brave and wanted to go on the white roller coaster to overcome her fear from last year. She did great and even talked Isaac into going on it with her. We went to Lagoon-A-Beach for a while, but the kids were too small to do many slides and it was insanely busy, so we didn't last long.
Rattlesnake Rapids
Airplanes
Carousal while Sophie and Daddy were on the white roller coaster
Music Express
Jamie and a friend were at Lagoon the same day, so we met up with them for a few rides and so I could go on the Cannibal. They were exhausted by 5pm, but somehow we were able to make until 9pm. Isaac was even brave enough to suggest going on Colossus, but we didn't have anyone to watch the kids so he didn't really do it.
