Luke is 18 months old

In July Luke turned 18 months old.  Which means he can finally go to nursery.  Hooray!  (He was becoming very difficult at church.)

Here are some things about Luke:
  • Luke is still all boy.  It's been so fun to see the natural gender differences between boys and girls.  But that little stinker gets away with everything.  He can be so naughty at times, but he's so cute and does it with a smile on his face, so we usually get up laughing at him instead of punishing him.  But he did go to time out for the first time the other day because he hit Sophie with something hard and bit her and she bled.  He didn't like that.
  • Luke is totally hit and miss with eating.  Some times he asks for food and snacks all day.  The other days he hardly eats anything.  But he's definitely a candy man.  He hates bread in all forms, although I've recently got him to eat a peanut butter sandwich.  But if he's done eating something he throws it across the room.  It drives me nuts!  I swear he is going for distance.  He can make such a mess.  And he loves drinking from a hose.  It's the cutest thing ever, even though he always ends up soaked.
  • Luke is still a mama's boy.  Usually it's super adorable, but when he won't go to bed and just wants me to rock him forever it can get old.  He goes around saying "mama" and it's the cutest thing.  He calls for me first thing in the morning to come and get him.  And he still loves to snuggle with me all the time.
  • Luke is turning into a bit of a wild man.  He thinks he's a big kid.  He's always running after his sisters and other kids copying everything they do.  He jumps off things that are way too big for him, and I'm worried he's going to hurt himself one of these days.  He loves going to parks and exploring new places.
  • He's starting to talk a lot more which is great.  He's still not super understandable and says what sounds like "juice" for lots of things.
  • Luke loves going to the "thorn house".  It's a little boy's paradise.  He wanders around picking up nails and other building debris.  He loves finding all the drinks the workers leave and trying to finish them off or carry them around (we try to pick them up first thing, but he's got a gift for finding them).  He always seems to find the one puddle of mud or wet plaster to play in.  And he leaves a complete mess every time (usually he has to a least have his pants removed before getting in the car).
  • Luke is my only child who has fallen asleep in weird places.  He's fallen asleep once in the high chair, but he's come close a few times and I've put him in bed right away.  One morning I was exercising down stairs and when I came up he had fallen asleep on the family room floor.

  • He is starting to like watching tv.  He usually wakes up and starts asking for a "show" first thing.  He usually only watches for a few minutes before running off to cause chaos somewhere.  But it's so cute when he watches nicely with his sisters.
But Luke is seriously such a happy and cute little guy.  He runs around with the cutest little wiggle bum.  We love our little man.
