Announcing..."the Knuts"

Ever since Isaac and I got married 5 years ago, we have casually discussed baby names at various times. (This was usually something we would do on road trips when there were hours and hours of time to kill.) Throughout all that time, there were very few names that Isaac and I agreed on. One of Isaac's favorite names for a baby boy is Knut (Ka-newt). Isaac served his mission in Germany and somehow got attached to that name. There is no way that I would really name my child Knut, but that became the name we would use when referring to our unborn child.

A few months ago Isaac and I found out that I was pregnant (all you people out there that never thought it would happen can start rejoicing now). We started calling the baby Knut until we could come up with a real name. But that was short-lived because at my 7 week ultrasound we found out that we are expecting twins. Yep, we have two Knuts growing in my belly. So that messed up our whole name situation and now we have to call them "the Knuts" until we come up with something better.

Here are some pictures of the babies. If you look really closely, you can see an "A" or "B" on the upper right side of the ultrasound. (That is because the doctor's office uncreatively calls them "baby A" and "baby B".) Aren't they cute? They look just like little aliens.

At my ultrasound two weeks ago (15 weeks) they told us that baby A is most likely a little boy and baby B is most likely a little girl. Both babies seem to be doing very well. I have an ultrasound about once a month to make sure they are growing at the same rate, and at my last appointment they were each about 11cm long. The baby boy even kicked his sister in the head at one point during the ultrasound. They are already getting along so well.

For those of you who keep bugging me to see how fat I am getting. These are pictures of me at week 17. I am wearing the tightest shirt I own so you can get a good look at my belly.

That is so awesome! My husband is a twin and he wanted our boy to be a twin, but it was not meant to be I guess! Congratulations, and you look so good for being 17 weeks with twins!

Congratulations! Pregnant and with twins! Wow! (When reading your post I have to admit that I said "Oh my heck!" outloud.) I'm so excited for you both and you look so tiny. Good luck with everything! I hope you're doing well and that the morning sickness wasn't/isn't too bad.
Congrats again!
