Nighttime Adventures

When I am finally able to lay down in bed for the night, I expect it to be a relaxing experience. Well, that's not what happened a few nights ago. I was laying in bed trying to fall asleep when I saw a huge, red spider climbing down it's web from the ceiling and aiming to land on my bed. This spider was huge, about 6 inches in diameter, and looked a lot like the picture below.

It wasn't just one of those wussy, little house spiders. I did the only thing that made sense--right when it was going to land on my bedspread, I would whip up the covers and launch it across the room to get it away from me. Unfortunately my plan didn't work out as expected. Instead of launching the giant spider, it managed to get more wrapped up in the sheets. The spider started wriggling frantically trying to get out. I started wriggling frantically as well to get out of the bed and away from the spider. Unfortunately Isaac was in my way, so I was kicking him as I tried to untangle myself from the covers and then had to jump over him to get out of the bed.

He then woke up and asked what I was doing. After mumbling/yelling something incoherent, I finally woke up enough to wonder what I was doing. Isaac then had a great time laughing at me and making fun of my brief little freak out.

I still don't even know what happened with that dream. I don't dream. I don't even really sleep. My own husband has only seen me asleep a couple times in the almost five years we have been married. Usually, he is the one saying all sorts of strange things in his sleep like, "I need a squash to fix the shower" or "The house of Pain...This is the house of Pain". So to make up for his mocking of me I have been wishing the giant red spider will visit his dreams on of these nights.

Hah! Marcy, you weirdo! J/k - I do the strangest things when I'm half awake. And I'm always really emotional too - usually either delivering an angry lecture that makes no sense or crying about something bizarre. I liked the post - you guys are funny!

I hate bug dreams almost as much as I hate bugs. I have been seeing spiders around our house now that it is warming up so I went on a spider web hunt with the vacuum as my weapon of choice last week.
