- Sophie's favorite toy is Sunshine Bear. She used to have nightmares every night, so one time when she was crying in the middle of the night I gave her Sunshine Bear to keep her safe. Sunshine Bear was a gag gift to me in high school. But one day I noticed that the bear was glowing in the toy box. So when Sophie was scared I showed her that Sunshine can glow and protect her. It is also easy for her to find when it is dark in the middle of the night. Ever since then Sophie takes Sunshine everywhere with her. I'm worried that Sunshine is radioactive. That bear glows neon green all night long. Even at 3am I can clearly see the sun on his belly.

- Sophie loves going to preschool. Her teacher said that she is the only kid in the class that will answer questions. And that she answers them way too advanced for a three year old.
- Where do walruses live? "The Arctic Ocean"
- Where do lions live? "Africa" (Apparently she is the only 3 year old who knows all the continents)
- What do ___ eat? "They are carnivores/herbivores" (Apparently she is the only 3 year old who knows those words too)
- Her teacher was impressed one day because she finally asked Sophie a question she didn't know the answer to. She asked the kids, "What are the colors of the walls in your room?" Sophie responded "What's a wall?" The teacher was shocked but asked all the kids in Sophie's class and the other preschool class if they knew what a wall was, and none of them did. I'm not sure how that word's definition slipped through, but that was the first thing Sophie didn't know.
- Sophie is so sweet and caring. She really doesn't like when other kids are sad or hurt. She gets really scared and cries during her tv and movies (especially Curious George because she can't handle that he causes trouble all the time). She takes really good care of Aspen and I love watching them interact together.
- Sophie loves dinosaurs. She knows all the names of the dinosaurs and likes to read her dinosaur encyclopedia book. It's a little weird to see such a little girl saying such big words.
- Sophie is also learning to read. She can read most little words that are simple to sound out. She has started to read simple books all by herself. Every day she has quiet time in her teepee where she gets to read the books we got from the library that week.

- She loves tv. Her ideal day would be to sit around watching PBS all day. I used to feel really bad that she watches about 2 hours of tv throughout the day, but she absorbs so much from those shows. Her favorite show is "Wild Kratts" and she has learned so much about animals through watching it.
- Sophie doesn't eat much for breakfast or dinner, but loves lunch. She is really stubborn about trying new foods and will instantly decide she doesn't like something.
- Sophie loves to draw and write. Her people are getting really good. And she can spell her first and last name, mom, dad, Aspen, and other words.

Sophie is 3 1/2 years old
At the end of January Sophie turned 3 1/2 years old! Sophie is such an amazing and sweet little girl. I really don't know how I was so blessed to get this angel. She is my best friend, and I'm so lucky to spend every day with her. Here are some fun things about Sophie:
